Showfety, chairman of PTI and former president of Koury Corp., dies at 72

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Steve Showfety, recently retired president of Koury Corp. and chairman of the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority, died Wednesday night after a battle with brain cancer.

He was 72 years old.

Showfety was integral in development in the Triad. He joined Koury in 1978, helping lead development of a portfolio of more than 3.8 million square feet of hospitality, retail, office and industrial properties as well as more than 1,400 multifamily units and 1,000 acres of land.
