Coronavirus test kits are free, but the hospital visit isn’t

It’s free for the test kit, but the test the hospital does will cost you.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Just like the flu, if you go to the Emergency Room or Urgent Care for treatment or testing of the Coronavirus, the actual blood test is free. The Center of Disease Control (CDC) is not billing for testing.

However, there are other charges you may have to pay. Business insider put together an estimated cost list for testing.

That list includes what you pay usually for being tested for Strain A and Strain B of the virus and if the doctor also does other blood tests to rule out other problems you will charged for those tests as well.
