Disaster food stamps are authorized for eligible households not currently receiving food and nutrition benefits that were affected by the tornado.

DHHS says people currently receiving food stamp benefits, including those requesting replacement benefits, are not eligible for this disaster program.

To apply, you will need some sort of verification of identity. This does not need to be a picture ID; any document showing your name, such as a utility or other bill, will be accepted.

Customer inquiries regarding the Disaster Food benefits can be directed to 336-641-3142.
