WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Dixie Classic Fair celebrated its 135th year with another big milestone. The fair this year attracted 300,105 people!

That’s more than 20,000 new fairgoers who attended this year compared to 2016.

David Sparks, the Fair’s Director said new rides and attractions contributed to this year’s fair attendance increase but that’s not all.

“The 2017 Dixie Classic Fair started strong with eight straight days of near perfect weather,” said Sparks.
This year’s fair included four new rides, the Cavallo Equestrian Arts performances, grandstand events and new fair foods.

Fairgoers also helped to stock the shelves at the Crisis Control Ministries with enough food to last six months thanks to 76,970 food items.

The fair also had 29,488 entries for competitive exhibitions including baking, flowers, livestock judging and more!

Plus, the 23rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Southeastern Wine Competition.
