HIGH POINT, N.C. – If you haven’t’ found the perfect holiday gift this season, the search is over. High Point Police Department have launched “From Cuffs To Cupcakes,” their second cookbook.

The cookbook features nearly 500 recipes gathered from officers and their friends and family, and other members of the community that wanted to pitch in.

Each of the recipes were taste-tested by a committee in the department, which led to the selection of the ones to be featured.

Lieutenant Petula Sellers led some of the efforts in making this second cookbook a possibility.

“In 2006, we created our very first cookbook and it was entitled “Cooking With Cops,” Sellers said. “In 2016 one of our detectives says “I think it’s time to do a second edition,” she added.

The funds come from the High Point Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, to which the funds of this second book will go to.

Community engagement is one of the main goals of the Alumni Association, and Sellers says that they hope this book will help continue to bridge the gap between civilians and the police department.

Sellers shared that “One of the things I like about it, it lets the public know that we’re human!”

Sellers told us that the cookbook will be available for purchase at the high point Police Department for $20, but hurry up because copies are selling quickly.
