GREENSBORO, NC -- On Easter Sunday most people get together with their families to celebrate the holiday with food and sweets, but not all have that opportunity.
Ashley Benton is the founder of The Green Team Helping Hands Inc. in Greensboro, and on Easter Sunday hosted an Easter feast for the homeless and hungry community.
Benton said that they normally feed people dealing with homelessness every Sunday, but this week was special. For the Easter celebration they received a $500 donation from Food Lion Grocery.
They were able to give hams and turkey breasts, candied yams, desserts, drinks, music and more for all the homeless and hungry community living in Greensboro.
In addition to a meal they also did a raffle for an Easter gift.
The event was held at Center City Park in downtown Greensboro.
