Tip a Greensboro Officer to Help the Special Olympics

Greensboro Police Officers will be helping the wait staff at two Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants on Friday to raise money for the Special Olympics.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Protect and serve dinner!

That's what Greensboro Police Officers will be doing this Friday to help a good cause.

On Friday, January 18, from 5-9 p.m., Greensboro officers are partnering with the wait staff at two Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants to raise money for the Special Olympics. They'll be at the restaurants on Battleground Avenue and Landmark Center Blvd.

The event is called "Tip a Cop," and officers will be refilling drinks and bringing out bread while talking to customers about the Special Olympics. Customers may tip the officers in addition to any tip that would normally be left for the wait staff. The officers' tips will go toward helping the Special Olympics.

Officers will also offer Special Olympics t-shirts and hats for sale as well as other merchandise.
