HIGH POINT, N.C. — Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a 78-year-old man in his home in High Point on Thursday.

“He was a harmless old man minding his business," the victims son of the same name, William Morrison Jr. said. "He got in a bad situation with somebody that it appears he knew, and they shot him.”

William Jr. said his father lived in that Meredith Street home for nearly 30 years, and everyone in the community loved him.

"He was a nice old dude, worked all his life," William Junior said getting choked up. "He worked all his life."
