HIGH POINT, NC -- High Point Police say they're investigating a homicide after finding a missing man's body at High Point Lake Tuesday.

31-Year-old Sircorious Griffin was found partially submerged on the shoreline underneath a bridge in the 600 block of Penny Road. High Point Fire and High Point Park Rangers helped remove Griffin's body from the water. Griffin was reported as missing on Monday.

Police say due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding Griffin's disappearance and death, the case will be investigated as a homicide unless a non-criminal cause of death is determined by the medical examiner’s office.

Police are looking for the car Griffin was last seen driving, a 4-door dark green 2000 Honda Passport with silver trim and an NC license plate of FES-5932. Anyone with information about the car should call 336-883-3224.

At 11:45 a.m., the police department tweeted they had recovered the body.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact Detective Knight at 336-887-7864 or Crimestoppers at 336-889-4000.
