GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. - The Guilford County Sheriff's office is trying to find the man who broke into an elderly couple's home, assaulted the couple and stole money.

Jeremy Lamar Hayes, the man in question, has now also been connected to assault on another elderly couple in Randolph County from last week in a series of crimes.

It happened on Old Randleman Road Saturday night around 7. Deputies believe Hayes was armed with a semi-automatic handgun when he forced his way into the residence.

Monday, the Guilford County Sheriff's Office positively identified Hayes and charged him with nine felonies: 1st Degree Burglary, 2 counts of Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon, 2 counts of 2nd Degree Kidnapping, 2 counts of Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury, Possession of Stolen Goods, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Randolph County Deputies also say Hayes attacked a couple, both in their 80's, at a home on Ingram Drive in Asheboro Wednesday. Emergency crews treated both couples for various injuries.
