ELON, N.C. — Elon police say the double-shooting that left a man dead and woman wounded appears to be domestic-related.

Officers responded to the report of a shooting on Pinedale Drive on Wednesday morning. When officers arrived, they found Nickolas Marquis Johnson and Maureen Chafatelli with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to the hospital. Police say Johnson died on the way there.

Police are now looking for 23-year-old Barry Eugene Campbell who they say allegedly shot the victims after Chafatelli broke up with him the night before.

Campell is charged with Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury for the assault of Maureen Chafatelli. Warrants for the death of Marquis Johnson are forthcoming.

Police say Campbell is considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Elon Police Department at (336) 584-1301 or Crimestoppers at (336) 229-7100.
