BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington Police have arrested a man who used a toy gun to rob a 67-year-old man.
Police arrested Tyrique Tajhan Tarpley, 19, of Burlington who’s facing multiple charges.
Police said Tarpley forced his way into the man’s apartment where he robbed him of his phone and the keys to his vehicle. He then stole the man’s car. A deputy with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office stopped the stolen vehicle and later arrested Tarpley.
Investigators said he’s connected to a separate domestic assault and robbery that occurred just the day before.
Tarpley is charged with 2 counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, B&E With Intent to Terrorize, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Misdemeanor Larceny. He’s in the Alamance County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
