HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point Police investigated three fights Thursday at Andrews High School.

Police said the fights occurred within just 30 minutes. Police said one of the students had a screwdriver on him. They would not reveal if it was used in the fights.

Police are not sure what caused the fights to occur at the school. One student could be charged with Affray.

Parents of the students involved were called in to take their children home. According to police, no one was injured in the fights. The SRO supervisor will be at the school on Friday to monitor activities.

Guilford County Schools released the following statement from Christopher Nowlin, GCS Executive Director of Emergency Management, Safety and Security:

“The safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority. Earlier today, students were involved in several altercations at Andrews High. No one was seriously hurt, but we called law enforcement to assist with campus security and to investigate the situation further. This behavior will not be tolerated and the students involved will face appropriate consequences.”
