Here are the number of COVID-19 cases across the Mid-South

This is a look at where Shelby County, as well as Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, currently stand for COVID-19 cases.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Shelby County Health Department reported 244 new cases and no new deaths Tuesday. That makes a total of 241,839 cases and 3,289 deaths in the county since the pandemic began.

There have been 549 active pediatric cases over the last 14-day period.

The 7-day rolling average for cases in Shelby County is 254 with a total of 571,383 people vaccinated in the county. Find more HERE. 


The state of Tennessee reports an average of 697 new cases per day and six new deaths per day for the week of May 1 through May 7, 2022. There are a total of 2,036,315 cases and 26,209 deaths in the state since the start of the pandemic.

The state of Mississippi reports, as of May 15, 2022, a total of 802,482 cases and 12,460 deaths in the state since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Arkansas Department of Health said there were 1,358 new cases and 11 new deaths in the latest update, released on May 10, 2022. The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 837,475 and 11,409 total deaths.
