City council approved the incentives during their meeting Tuesday night. City employees who get fully vaccinated will get $250 at first. If the city government gets to 65% vaccination amongst all employees, another $250 bonus will go to vaccinated employees. One more $250 bonus will go to employees if the organization reaches a 75% vaccination rate. Employees could thus receive up to $750.
The money is coming from funding from the American Rescue Plan, the city said.
Depending on their position and length of employment, some workers could also get a bonus of up to $3,500. That will depend on how long their service was through the pandemic. It also depends on if they worked full-time through the pandemic and were considered either an essential and critical worker or essential and non-critical employee. Additionally, part-time employees could get up to $1,500.
