James Corden's Perfect Response To Hateful Tweet

The Late Late Show's James Corden compassionate and reflective response to a Twitter follower who tweeted a vicious sentiment about Corden's child. The negative tweet resulted after Corden potentially spoiled an episode of the Game of Thrones.

The Late Late Show's James Corden got in a Twitter fight with a Game of Thrones' fan. It all started earlier this week when he made a joke during his show that contained spoilers from Sunday's episode. According to Buzzfeed, someone on Twitter didn't find it funny and tweeted in part.."I hope his kid gets cancer".

Corden responded by saying "My hope for your child is that they never get to read that their mother or father would wish cancer on any child as 'a joke'. Because, however you defend it to them, they'll never be able to understand how you could do such a thing." He also wrote, "Please take a minute and think about what you just wrote and whether you want to be a person who publicly says such things. I believe you're better than that."

Corden's response came from a place of compassion and reflection not anger or bitterness. He asked that the writer think about his/her message and whether they really meant it. And wanted to be known as a mean person. Then he ended positively by saying that he knows the writer is better than the ugliness that he/she wrote. Very powerful way to respond.

You might be wondering how someone could get so angry. Realize that you have certain expectations of how you think life should be. When life disappoints you, you get angry, which is a natural feeling. But, some people don't know how to effectively cope with anger and retaliate. And your retaliation can be harsh. Like wishing someone to get cancer.

To manage your anger, it takes self control. It's on you to figure out what triggers your anger and to find find ways to manage. So if you know that traffic drives you nuts then make sure you give yourself extra time to get to your destination. When you feel that you're starting to get angry then take deep breaths, take a walk, disconnect from who you're talking to for a few minutes. The responsibility is on you not anyone else.
