Spring Is Here, Check Your Tires

Now is a great time to see what kind of damage winter did your tires.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's officially spring, and now is a great time to check your tires.

First, it's important to pay attention to your spare tire just like you do the 4 you're using.

Make sure the air pressure is to its suggested psi. Either the inside of the car door or the tire itself will say what it should be.

Then, look for cuts, cracks and sidewall blisters. They could've been caused by hitting potholes.

It might also be a good time to rotate your tires. It should typically be done every 5,000 - 8,000 miles.

Finally, check the tread. Take a quarter and put it upside down inside one of the grooves. If you can see all of George Washington's head, it might be time for a new tire.
