This Wells Fargo Login Text Looks Real. It's NOT!

No matter how real something looks, a bank is NEVER going to ask you to confirm your user name and password in a text.

GREENSBORO, NC -- Your bank is never going to send you a text with their login page.

I'm telling you that up front, because when you see this next text, you might wonder what's real and what's not. One of my co-worker's kids got this text. It has the Wells Fargo logo up top. It asks for your security your account is disabled and prompts you to please login and confirm your information. It even comes with a disclaimer about security measures and federal law.

It looks real. But take a look at the real mobile login. Same logo. The face is a bit different, but the scammers are betting you won't notice.

Wells Fargo confirmed the text login was fake. This is from a regional spokesperson:

Wells Fargo would never ask a customer to provide login information in a text message. We encourage our customers to use caution if you receive an email or text expressing an urgent need for you to update your information, activate your online banking account, or verify your identity by clicking on a link. If you receive an email or text message requesting sensitive information, do not respond, and delete it.
