9,720 Gallons Of Wastewater Spill Into Randleman Lake

The 'Divison of Water Quality' is currently reviewing the matter, the untreated wastewater spilled into Randleman Lake leading to Deep River.
The Piedmont Triad Regional Reservoir Authority is working to lower levels of manganese in Randleman Lake Reservoir.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Accoring to a release, The City of High Point had a wastewater spill of an estimated 9,720 gallons at 5875 Riverdale Drive. 

The incident happened Saturday, February 23, 2019. 

The untreated wastewater spilled into Randleman Lake leading to Deep River. 

The spill was caused by rain and pump failure. 

The Divison of Water Quality is currently reviewing the matter. 

House Bill-1160, which the General Assembly enacted in July 1999, requires that municipalities, animal operations, industries and others who operate waste handling systems issue a news release when a waste spill of 1,000 gallons or more reaches surface waters. This notice was sent in accordance with that regulation.
