Alamance County Launches Gunstoppers Program

"It is an effort to make Alamance County as safe as possible," said Eugene Peterson.

HAW RIVER, N.C. — Alamance County Area Crimestoppers is starting a new initiative called Gun Stoppers, a way to use the Crimestoppers program to get illegal guns out of the community. 

A press conference was held Wednesday at the Burlington Police Training Center about the program.

The news conference begins at 15:15 in the clip below:

"Our goal is to reduce violent crime to encourage people by reporting illegal guns in our city," said Eugene Peterson. "It is an effort to make Alamance County as safe as possible."

GunStoppers is a partnership between local Law Enforcement and the Alamance County Wide CrimeStoppers program.
