Burlington Police are looking for Travis Lee Currie after he allegedly broke into a home and pistol-whipped a man.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington Police are looking for a man accused of breaking into a home and assaulting a man with a pistol Sunday afternoon.

Police are looking for Travis Lee Currie, who they say is driving a red, older-model Honda Civic with a fake tag of CCN-6800. Officers responded to a home in the 2200 block of Pine Knoll Terrance just around 12:22 p.m. where Gary Bryant told them Currie had broken in and injured him.

Police say Currie pistol-whipped Bryant several times in the head, causing lacerations. Currie damaged the front door of Bryant's home to break in and brought out a semi-automatic pistol. Currie pointed the pistol at Bryant when they were arguing over the female resident at the home, according to police.

Currie, of Burlington, left the home after the assault. It's not known where he could be.

Bryant's injuries aren't considered life-threatening.

Warrants for Currie, 30, were issued for 1 count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, 1 count of Breaking and Entering with Intent to Terrorize, and 1 count of Assault by Pointing a gun.
