Clearing The Way For The Greensboro Urban Loop

The end date for the project is 2023, but engineers hope to push that up to 2021.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Our drone Red Bird 2 took flight to check out the work being done for the next phase of the Greensboro Urban Loop project on Monday.

Crews cleared all the trees on Yanceyville Road -- just north of Lee's Chapel Road.

The next two phases on construction will stretch from Battleground Avenue to Lawndale Avenue -- and then Lawndale Avenue to Highway 29.

The end date for the project is 2023, but engineers hope to push that up to 2021.

The latest portion of the Urban Loop opened to the public in April. It's the section between Bryan Boulevard and Battleground Avenue.
