HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point Police say a man died in a construction accident Tuesday afternoon.
It happened just before 1 p.m. at a home on Ferndale Blvd.
Investigators say a man was working on the home when the ceiling collapsed on him.
Homeowners say he was doing renovations there. They say the victim is a family friend, and he was painting the ceiling when it collapsed.
The Occupational Safety and Health Division, or OSH, is investigating.
They said they have opened an investigation with Southeastern Building Services Inc. Investigators said the man was found under the ceiling debris after it collapsed. The ceiling was equipped with a radiant ceiling heating system.
