Cypress Street in Greensboro now closed after gas leak, officials say

The 900 block of Cypress Street in Greensboro has been closed after construction crews hit a gas line on Tuesday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Editor's note: We had an incorrect photo with the story and have updated it. 

A section of Cypress Street has been closed after construction crews hit a gas line, Tuesday afternoon.

“About 2:58 p.m. a call came in for a gas leak, after crews hit a gas line between Wendover and Bessemer Avenue,” said Assistant Fire Chief Dwayne Church.

The fire department says the 900 block of Cypress Street is currently closed.

Greensboro fire officials says no one was injured or forced to evacuate.
