HIGH POINT, NC (WFMY) -- The deadline to register for the 17th annual John Coltrane Jazz Workshop is coming up June 30, 2018.
The workshop will be held at the Penn-Griffin School for the Arts on July 23-26.
All rising 7th – 12th graders with just one year of experience playing an instrument are eligible to apply to the workshop.
This year’s faculty for the workshop will include jazz artists that teach and perform all across North Carolina.
The students in the workshop will have the chance to perform in various ensembles and learn jazz theory and history each day.
The registration fee for the John Coltrane Jazz workshop is $100, which covers four days of teaching, a morning snack, and a workshop t-shirt.
Registration forms can be found online or can be picked up at the Centennial Arts Center.
