Dean of Students at UT aims to help new Vols

UT leaders are not wasting any time helping students get settled on campus.

Knoxville — UT leaders are welcoming students new and old to campus this week, but on Thursday morning they hosted an event that was named some a tad, well, corny.

The 'Orange you proud to be a Vol' event offered students free snacks and introduced them to programs and resources available to them on the Knoxville campus.

"We really want students to know that the Office of the Dean of Students is here to support them in the good times and also to support them if they have any unique challenges throughout their college experience," UT's Dean of Students Shea Kidd Houze said.

Some of those services include help with various problems, unique opportunities on campus and getting connected.
