KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- Kernersville Police have arrested a Forsyth County teacher for several counts of sexual activity with a student and indecent liberties with a student.

Police say they've been investigating an allegation made last month that Ms. Rebecca Swinson was involved with a student. They arrested her Tuesday and charged her with 3 counts of sexual activity with a student and 16 counts of indecent liberties with a student.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools confirms Swinson was a teacher at East Forsyth High School but was placed on suspension once the investigation started and has since been let go after police arrested her.

The school system says Swinson was also a coach at the school.

Swinson was given $150,000 unsecured bond is due in court in September.
