WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Folks around the Triad are getting together to celebrate freedom at the 12th Annual Juneteenth Festival.
Juneteenth is the oldest-known observance of the abolition of slavery in the United States.
Triad Cultural Arts will host a festival in Wake Forest Innovation Quarter. It's free and open to the public.
The celebration will include African dance, arts and crafts, food demonstrations and a health fair.
The event will take place at 575 N. Patterson Ave. in Winston-Salem on Saturday, June 18th. It lasts from 11 am to 4 pm.
