It’s that time of year again and our home Guru Tom Garcia has some suggestions that can help you give gifts for the handyperson in your life! So he went to the Home Depot to schowcase some of his favorite things!

Tom says the holiday season brings tremendous discounts on lots of tools, many of which are essential tools that will last a lifetime. He suggests people always try to buy tools that have lifetime warranties. Most are not particularly expensive and really will last a lifetime. He also said wrenches and screwdrivers are always a good choice.

Home wireless technology continues to advance at an amazing rate. Tom shared some items that are all designed to be connected to your WIFI system and be controlled by any smart device. From thermostats to garage door openers, you can truly monitor your home from afar and even adjust the systems of the home -- which make great gifts for all the techies in your life!

Tom says one of the most useful of tools is the cordless drill and this time of year brings some wonderful deals. Sets such as these come with pretty much every power tool you could use. Another wonderful gift is this heated jacket which uses the same type of battery as the cordless drills and can stay operating for hours.

Even though Tom normally shows off new tools and gadgets, he also loves getting the kids involved. So he shared some ideas to let your child join you when working in the yard or shop. They mimic the real thing but don’t actually operate. Another great gift is to enroll them in the Saturday morning kid workshops at the Home Depot. The first Saturday of every month is all about the kids and building. They construct bird houses, trucks and lots of other projects. The best part? It's all free!

Maybe you've already given some great tools. Now's the time to get them organized! Tom showed off many size tool bags and storage units. He said some small ones cost about ten dollars and are very durable. He also showed off a large unit on rollers. He said it's the ultimate storage unit, and it's heavily discounted for the holiday season.
