Make Money On Your Day Off

Use your day off to discover new ways to make money

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- What if money really did grow on trees? We would all have an endless supply of cash on hand, right? We wouldn't have to work and holidays could really be just that; a day off!

But let's be honest; that's not the life we live. Since, most of us have to work, we went to money expert Ja'Net Adams for a financial-freedom reality check.

"Another holiday weekend is upon us and it will be a great time to relax and hang out with family and friends. Instead of doing the usual, why not find ways to make or save money?," said Adams. "I want to share a few tips you can use this weekend that will help your bank account."

Adams who wrote the book, The Money Attractor offered these tips.

Party Light:

"The worst call you can get when you are trying to do better with your money is from a friend asking you to come to their Memorial Day Cookout. That invitation also comes with them wanting you to bring something. You shouldn't go broke for an event that you didn't ask to come to," said Adams. Instead of buying the best snacks, look for what is on sale and bring those items. "If a pack of soda is cheaper than a bag of chips bring soda! Beggars can't be choosy!," said Adams.

Get rid of some items:

"This is not a time to clean house, but more about finding a couple of high end items in your home that you are not using. Take these items and put them up for sale on EBay," said Adams. "By the time Memorial Day arrives you could have more money in your bank account."

Future Money:

"This weekend could bring you future money. Have you wanted to look for a new, higher paying job, but never have the time? Have you wanted to start a new business, but haven't submitted the paperwork yet? Use this Memorial Day Weekend to jumpstart those activities and by next year this time you could be make more money than you are today!"

Adams says to put the holiday to good use and spend the day coming up with ways to grow your bank account.
