North Carolina Seafood Brings Out The Flavor In Our State Magazine

From fried flounder and grilled Amberjack to Stuffed Mountain Trout, there’s plenty of delicious fish in the North Carolina waters.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — In North Carolina, there is plenty of fish in the sea, plus the lakes, rivers, and streams and they make a tasty trio of delicious dishes.

From a Fried Flounder Sandwich and Grilled Amberjack with Citrus to Stuffed Mountain Trout, Our State Magazine has the flavorful recipes in the June issue.

Chef Lynn Wells is the recipe developer for Our State.  She says you don't even need a rod and reel for these fresh catches.

"It is the best," said Chef Lynn.  "If you can't get it off the hook, try to get it from a local seafood market or someone you know that's reputable.  Fish should not have any odor.  If you're getting whole fish, the eyes should be nice, clear and bright and the skin nice and firm."

Chef Lynn walks you step by step through the recipe for Stuffed Mountain Trout in this segment featured Tuesday on the Good Morning Show.

You can find the video included in this story.  The recipes for all three dishes are included below.  You can also find them and all of the magazine's featured articles included in the June edition of Our State which is in stores now.
