GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are investigating a crash involving an impaired driver.

It happened on Friday around the midnight hour at the corner of MLK Drive and Whittington Street.

Police arrested and charged 18-year-old Ostos Adon with Driving While Impaired (DWI), marijuana possession, and hit-and-run.

Authorities say the driver ran off the road, slammed into a utility pole, and attempted to drive off.

Nearly 1,500 Duke Energy customers were without power due to the crash.

Officers were forced to close a section of MLK Drive between Whittington Street and Broad Drive.

It took Duke Energy crews about 6 hours to restore power.

The good news is no one was hurt.
