GREENSBORO, NC -- Don't miss this! A local business woman has big plans for a development in Greensboro and you can be a part of making her vision come to life!
The center would be called 'The Amadi Way.' It's a community center, salon, daycare center, and dance studio in one location. The Amadi Way Project is a community economic development endeavor that seeks to provide opportunities to young people to build skills, enhance their craft, and give them tools to be successful. The Project looks to develop land on Perry Street to house office space, childcare, a salon, and an event center, to support economic activities and provide opportunities for growth and development for the community.
The Childcare Drop-off Center will establish a trustworthy and unique choice for parents requiring temporary care for their children. The employment opportunities created by this center will help to advance and strengthen the socioeconomic status that encompasses the Coliseum area and nearby areas in East Greensboro. Not only will licensed and experienced childcare professionals be given a new place to work, but the center will have the potential to grow exponentially once partnerships with the neighboring Greensboro Coliseum and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) are cemented. The Amadi Way Project plans on developing a collaborative effort with the Coliseum that would link the childcare services offered by the Amadi Way Center on all concert tickets. This would allow parents enjoying late concerts to be reassured and relaxed, knowing that they don’t have to scramble to find someone to look after their children during the concert time. The Drop-off Center will be open until 11:30 pm, and a portion the profits will go to the Coliseum. Also, the partnership with the UNCG arts community will allow for local students and children to showcase their talents with the community.
The two-level salon would include hair stylists, barbers, estheticians, nail technicians, and masseuses. The space will contain a shopping area, providing local and international entrepreneurs a space in which they could sell their retail products.
The Community Event Center will contribute a large portion of the revenue to the Amadi Way Center due to its state-of-the art technological capabilities. Characteristics of this area are to include: a hydraulic dance floor, specialized lighting fixtures in the walls and on the ceiling, several drop-down flat-screen TVs and projection screens, and a VIP balcony. This space will be great for community members and other Greensboro citizens that want to rent space for luxury birthday parties, weddings and engagement parties, Greek sorority and fraternity reunions and parties, lavish banquets and galas. This spectacular Event Center will also become home to local job fairs and entrepreneur showcases for cosmetology and various other careers and businesses. This area can provide professional meeting space for various organizations and businesses in the Greensboro area. Although this space is designed for rental customers to use for their event of choice, this area will be used for community events that showcase the youth arts programs that are sponsored by the Center.
The attached office space will be able to house a local business or organization as they grow and expand. This rental space will provide a professional environment for groups that are looking to build their credibility and business connections in the city.
