Greensboro Man Going 100 MPH On Motorcycle Dies After Crashing: Police

A man on a Kawasaki ZX1400E motorcycle hit a Toyota Camry while going about 100 MPH, High Point Police say.

A Greensboro man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday morning after police say he was going around 100 miles per hour while trying to evade a High Point officer.

The officer reportedly clocked a man on a 2012 Kawasaki ZX1400E motorcycle going 66 MPH in a 45 MPH zone on West Wendover Ave. around 2:30 a.m. The man sped up when the officer tried to pull him over. At that point, the officer stopped the pursuit, the report states.

The 34-year-old driver hit the back of a Toyota Camry near the intersection of West Wendover Ave. and Morris Farm Rd. and was thrown around 250 feet from the motorcycle, police say. His speed at the time of the crash was estimated at 100 MPH. He died at the scene.

The driver of the Camry went to the hospital with a possible head injury. He was alert and talking when officers arrived on the scene, according to police.

The driver's identity hasn't been released.

Police are still investigating.
