GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro is gaining notice from one nationwide list published this week.

The Gate City's affordability and diverse offerings were recently celebrated on a list of the best places to live in the United States.

The list cites Greensboro's 'affordable housing, plentiful amenities and high-scoring infrastructure' as to why it's ranked 51st on Livability's '2019 Top 100 Best Places to Live.'

The Greensboro entry hails spots like Little Brother Brewery, Scuppernog Books, the Greensboro Science Center and Crafted: The Art of the Taco. Livability also cities Greensboro's vibrant LGBTQ community as part of its 'dedication to inclusiveness.'

The climate, described in six words or less, was summed up: 'Thunderstorms and lightning, very, very frightening!'

Several other North Carolina towns littered the list, including Raleigh at No. 2. Asheville (14), Charlotte (21) and Durham (23) all ranked in the top 25.
