GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Have you seen this flyer? It's popping up on trash cans and recycling bins around Greensboro.

The city of Greensboro says it's causing some confusion for residents.

The sign is advertising a painting service to mark your curb with a reflective address. It says the service costs $20.

It doesn't say who's offering the service, but the city of Greensboro tweeted Tuesday that it'snot them.

There's currently no requirement to get a reflective address painted on your curb, according to the city.

"It's a good reminder to always do your homework before paying up," said Kevin Hinterberger, President of the Better Business Bureau in Greensboro. "Before you spend any of your hard-earned money, even if it's only 20 dollars to get the number posted, check with the city of Greensboro."

According to the Greensboro Fire Department, reflective numbers can be helpful when they are responding to emergency calls at night. However, they are not a requirement by the city.
