Rain and wet roads made for a hazardous Sunday on a Triad interstate, according to Alamance County EMS.

There were multiple crashes Sunday evening on Interstate I-85/40 between Graham and Mebane. Investigators say about 94 cars were involved in crashes, but they aren't certain the exact number of injuries. They told WFMY News 2 there were crashes on both sides of the interstate.

The first accidents were reported around 6pm. Some lanes have since reopened but officials urged drivers to avoid the area or use caution around it.

EMS from Guilford, Orange and Chatham Counties assisted Alamance County.
