Lexington Woman Arrested For Have Heroin, Meth on Elementary School Grounds

Midway Elementary School officials contacted the SRO about a woman acting suspiciously on school grounds.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — A Lexington woman was arrested for having heroin and meth on the grounds of Midway Elementary School on Monday. 

Davidson County Sheriff's Office says school officials informed the SRO about a woman acting suspiciously and appearing to be under the influence. 

The SRO's K9 searched the woman's car and found a half a gram of heroin and a half a gram of meth. 

Deputies say Kelly LouAnn Lawing Cox faces several drug charges, including having drugs within 1,000 feet of a school. 

She was placed in Davidson County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond.
