How To Get Ready For Hurricane Florence
YMCA of Greensboro locations are welcoming the public to come shower, charge their devices or have a cup of coffee. The YMCA is not serving as an overnight shelter but will allow guests during Florence. Guests won't be charged a fee but will need to bring a photo ID and sign a guest waiver. The YMCAs will be open as long as they have power or the weather doesn't become severe.

GUILFORD COUNTY
Red Cross Emergency Shelters
Shelter: Glenwood Recreation Center
Opening: Thursday, September 13 at noon for anyone who needs a safe place to stay locally. Also, for open for April Tornado victims. The shelter will be open 24 hours a day until further notice.
Located: 2010 Coliseum Boulevard in Greensboro
Items to bring: Medications, toiletries, a pillow and blanket, a sleeping bag and a towel.
Shelter: Interactive Resource Center White Flag Emergency Warming Station
Opening: Thursday, September 13 at 4:00 p.m.
Located: 407 East Washington Street in Greensboro
Shelter: High Point Seventh Day Adventist Church
Opening: Friday, September 14 at 5 p.m.
Located: 279 Eastchester Drive
Items to bring: Pillow, blanket, hygiene products, medications. Pets allowed but separated from shelter occupants.

Location: 311 College St., Graham

UPDATE: As of Friday evening, the shelter at The Lamb's Chapel in Haw River is at capacity. Residents seeking shelter should go to Fairchild Center in Burlington, located at 827 S. Graham-Hopedale Road.
RANDOLPH COUNTY
Red Cross Emergency Shelter
Shelter: First Baptist Church
Opening: Thursday, September 13 at 8:00 p.m.
Location: 133 N. Church St. in Asheboro
Items to bring: ID, medication, personal hygiene items, pillow and blanket, cards or small entertainment devices, any special food/snacks you want to have.
Pets: Pets will not be allowed to stay inside the shelter with you, however, the shelter can accommodate your cat/dog in a safe, nearby location. You must bring a pet crate, pet food, collar, leash, and proof of vaccine for the pet.
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY

Shelter: Rockingham County Middle School
Closing: Will close Sunday at noon
Location:182 High School Road in Reidsville
Items to bring: ID, Medications, toiletries, a pillow and blanket, a sleeping bag and a towel, change of clothes
