Man Charged in Hit-and-Run Involving Mom and Baby Daughter: Police

Police say Christopher Obryan Carter left the scene after crashing into another SUV carrying Tiwan Goodner and her child.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 32-year-old man was charged in connection with a hit-and-run that caused an SUV to flip in the road in Greensboro last week.

Greensboro Police say Christopher Obryan Carter drove an SUV away from the scene after crashing into another SUV carrying Tiwan Goodner and her baby last Wednesday afternoon just after 3:30.

The crash happened at the intersection of E. Wendover Ave. and Gatewood Ave. Carter was charged with Hit and Run, Driving While License Revoked and Failure to Stop at a Red Light.

Tiwan Goodner and her child were headed east on Wendover when Carter hit her SUV, causing it to overturn. Goodner and her child weren't injured.

"My mommy instincts kicked in, my adrenaline," said Goodner. "I pulled my legs from under the steering wheel and the dashboard and I was just pulling to get to the back, pulling with my hands and I got to my baby and I used one hand to hold her and I used the other to unbuckle her and I had her on my chest."
