Missing Thomasville man found dead in Randolph County, deputies say

Steven Paul Soles, 36, was reported missing to the Thomasville Police Department and was found dead Friday in Randolph County.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A missing man from Thomasville was found dead in Randolph County, according to Randolph County Sheriff's County (RCSO).

Steven Paul Soles, 36, was reported missing to the Thomasville Police Department (TPD) and was found Friday in Randolph County.

Around 10:20 a.m., a caller noticed a gray Nissan upside down in Caraway Creek on Caraway Mountain Road, Sophia and called 911. NC Highway Patrol and RSCO responded. 

Investigation revealed that the car plate matched the car plates Soles had last been seen in and was part of a missing person report issued by TPD.

Ash-Rand Rescue, Westside Fire Department and Randolph County Emergency Managment responded for the extrication of Soles and hazmat control. 

It was confirmed that Soles was the missing person.
