NC Families United Building Heavily Damaged By Fire; Police Investigating

Investigators believe the fire started outside near the back of the building. The cause is still under investigation.

GRAHAM, N.C. (WFMY)-- Graham police and fire have launched a joint investigation after a fire severely damaged a building Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported just before 6pm at the North Carolina Families United on E. Elm St. in Graham. Responding firefighters reported the back side of the building was consumed with flames when they arrived to the site. The fire quickly spread throughout the roof causing extensive damage, they said.

Investigators believe the fire started near the rear exterior of the building. The cause is still under investigation.

The mission of NC Families United is to link families to State and community partners for the purpose of improving the lives of children, youth, and families with emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs; Focus active attention on the unique strengths and needs of these children and their families by educating and advising policy makers, service providers, other advocacy organizations, according to its website.
