Police: Burlington Man Shot During Home Burglary

Police say two men broke into a man's Burlington home and shot him Friday morning.

BURLINGTON, NC -- A Burlington man is recovering from gunshot wounds, after what police say was a burglary that turned into an attempted murder.

Police say Rasheid Purefoy was at his home when two unknown men, wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts, kicked in the back door. Purefoy told police when he confronted the men, a struggle happened, and one of the men shot him in the abdomen and left thigh.

Purefoy got himself to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police have not yet identified the suspects and are still investigating.
