Randolph County teen now home safe after missing for more than a month

Deputies said 17-year-old Emma Staley is safe with family. She'd been missing since December.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies said a 17-year-old girl who'd been missing for more than a month is back home safe with her family in Randolph County.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office said Emealia “Emma” Rose Marie Staley was reported missing on December 13 after she was last seen in the Gray Fox Lane area the previous night.  A silver alert was later issued for her, which is normally used for those suffering from cognitive impairments. She's now home with family, deputies said on Friday.

Staley reportedly ran away to Chatham County.

Further details about her disappearance weren't immediately available.
