RANDLEMAN, NC - A shooting was reported in the Randleman Walmart parking lot around 3:03 p.m. Thursday.

The shooting reportedly stemmed from a child custody dispute, the Courier-Tribune is reporting. Randleman Police Chief Steve Leonard told the newspaper the father came to the Walmart to meet the mother of his child, and the child.

The dad was awarded custody and the exchange was scheduled to happen in the store's parking lot. Instead, the grandmother showed up without the child and started shooting at the man and his girlfriend, chief Leonard said.

During the gunfire, chief Leonard said the woman, Sheila Nougier of Greensboro, shot herself in the foot. She was transported to a hospital in Greensboro to be treated for her gunshot wound. Police found her after she called 911 from separate businesses after the shooting. They were able to determine her wound was from the Walmart shooting incident.

Charges are pending against Nougier.
