Suspect identified in Camera Corner robbery, police say

Police said the man stole thousands worth of merchandise from the store in December.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said a suspect has been identified after a robbery in Burlington.

Burlington police said David Eugene Dodson Smithe, 27, of York, South Carolina is accused of robbing the Camera Corner on South Church Street in December 2022.

Investigators said over $10,000 worth of merchandise had been stolen. 

Police have issued warrants for his arrest.

Smithe is charged with larceny after breaking and entering, and breaking and entering.

The investigation is ongoing.
