BURLINGTON, N.C. (WFMY) -- If there’s one thing that Olivia Williams loves to do, it’s sing!
The 9-year-old stunned the crowd while performing at a school talent showcase.
The third grader who attends Altamahaw Ossipee Elementary stepped on stage and up to the microphone. She performed, “Girl On Fire” by Alicia Keys. Let’s just say, Olivia really is on fire!
Olivia said she gets nervous before a performance but once she steps on stage she feels, “powerful.”
Her teacher, Jayne Woodruff recorded a video of her singing. It was later shared on Facebook and has more than 12,000 views.
Woodruff said, “She’s an amazing student and young lady.” She also said, “She’s been a blessing to teach in the classroom.”
Olivia is a hardworking student and loves to study science when she’s not thinking about singing.
Her mother, Andrea said, “It’s like she lives life with a song playing in her head.”
Olivia also plays guitar and likes softball.
You can watch Olivia perform in person this summer. On Saturday, July 14, Olivia will sing the national anthem at the Burlington Royals game. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. as the Royals take on Johnson City. Find out more about the game and get tickets.
