Thomasville Woman Dies After Being Hit By Driver On Christmas Eve

Tammy Small was transported to Wake Baptist Hospital where she died on Christmas Day.

A woman has died after being hit by an SUV on Monday afternoon.

According to the Thomasville Police Department, officers responded to the Dollar General at 830 Julian Avenue in reference to the incident where they discovered that Tammy Small, 57, had been hit as she was walking across the parking lot of Dollar General. 

Small was transported to Wake Baptist Hospital where she died on Tuesday, December 25. 

39-year-old Coletta Sturdivant was the driver of the SUV that hit Small. 

It is unknown if alcohol, narcotics, or electronic devices played a contributing role in the incident at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing.
