STOKESDALE, NC (WFMY) -- A man died after a three-car crash on US Highway 158 Friday near Knight Road in Rockingham County.
The incident occurred Friday morning at 6:31 a.m.
Steve Anderson Puckett, 82, of Madison was traveling east on US Highway 158 in a 2014 GMC pickup truck.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Puckett struck the back of a 2006 Nissan Suv that was driven by Jason Dallas Knight, 38, of Summerfield.
(Knight was stopped in the roadway waiting to make a left turn into a driveway.)
Puckett's pickup truck then traveled left of center and was struck in the passenger side by William Bedford Labarr, 48, of Summerfield.
Labbar was driving west on US Highway 158 in a 2016 F-150 pickup truck.
After the crash, both Puckett’s and Labarr’s vehicle went off onto the westbound shoulder.
Knight’s SUV came to a stop on the eastbound shoulder. Puckett died at the scene.
Labarr received minor injuries, however, was not transported. Knight was uninjured. There were no passengers in either of the vehicles and no charges have been made.
Puckett was not wearing a seatbelt.
