GREENSBORO, NC (WFMY) - Emergency Services for Guilford Metro 911, Forsyth County 911 and Burlington 911 reported issues getting calls Thursday.

The problem was wide spread throughout the Southeast.

Many now report they are able to receive calls.


Greensboro police say the issue is affecting the southeastern United States, and carriers are working to resolve the problem. 911 service was restored in Greensboro as of 2 p.m.

The Burlington Police Department says unidentified complications with AT&T’s networks may affect the ability of customers to call 911. To ensure connection to emergency services in Burlington, AT&T customers should call (336) 570-6777 for medical emergencies and (336) 229-3500 for police or fire emergencies occurring in Burlington.

Forsyth County was also experiencing problems with its 911 system. The sheriff's office says If you are experiencing an emergency and cannot get through on 911, dial 336-727-2222. In Winston-Salem, dial (336) 773-7700.

On Wednesday morning, Randolph County Emergency Services reported issues with those calling 911 from a landline.
